Research

The Oregon Processed Vegetable Commission invests in research that directly supports Oregon growers and processors. Each year, OPVC funds projects on snap beans, beets, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and sweet corn. These projects are made possible through a per-ton assessment on vegetables grown in the state, ensuring that research dollars go right back into strengthening the industry.

Research proposals are reviewed by OPVC’s commissioners: producers, processors, and a public member, who select projects that address real challenges and provide practical solutions. The goal is to help Oregon’s processed vegetable industry stay productive, competitive, and sustainable for the future.
