Oregon Department of Agriculture

The Oregon Department of Agriculture helps guide and support all state commodity commissions, including OPVC. ODA provides oversight to make sure commissions operate fairly and transparently, while giving growers and processors a trusted partner in promoting Oregon agriculture.

Introducing Oregon Processed Vegetables

Oregon ranks among the top 10 states in the U.S. for producing processed vegetables for two powerful reasons. First, Oregon’s mild climate and rich soil encourages abundant cultivation. Second, vegetable processing facilities have been established across the state to ensure the freshest produce is processed to maintain quality through drying, freezing, and canning.

ODA Accepting Proposals

The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) is pleased to announce a grant opportunity to help Oregon producers and processors access the school marketplace. Application materials are now available at ODA’s Farm to School webpage: https://oda.direct/F2S.

The deadline to apply is March 31, 2026, by 5:00pm.

Applicants must request funds greater than $10,000 and less than $50,000.

Farm To School Program

The Farm to School Program works to connect Oregon farmers, ranchers, seafood harvesters, and food processors with school cafeterias, early child care centers, and summer meal sites. This enables more Oregon agricultural products to be served in the lunch line. It also helps connect youth to food production through school gardens, field trips to farms and ranches, and grower visits to the classroom.
